Previous to Richard working with us we were struggling to get above 30/31 litres. Richard came in looked at the robot settings, the cow’s environment and nutrition. We saw an immediate response and an uplift in milk. We went from 31- 36 litres in very little time and it was down to Richard getting the diet right.
Advanced Robot 18 Dairy Nuts
The Advanced Robot 18 Dairy Nut has been developed to be highly palatable and maintain rumen function in order to achieve a healthy cow. If we are expecting the newly calved cow to be attracted to the parlour between 4 and 6 times per day as a minimum, nothing must put her off.
Advanced Robot 18 Dairy Nuts
As a business we have seen a progression from feeding small, family farms to feeding an increasing number of professional, 2000 strong herds, milked in 60 point rotary parlours and large rapid exit parlours. However, no system is moving with as much pace as the robotic milking system.
Improved efficiencies in both labour and animal nutrition are driving production towards 2 million litres per man employed. There is a need for production to be evermore competitively priced yet remain sustainable through improved cow welfare. It is with this healthy cow in mind that we have developed a very specific dairy nut to go with this milking system.
Benefits of Advanced Robot 18 Dairy Nuts
The Advanced Robot 18 Dairy Nut has been developed to be highly palatable and maintain rumen function in order to achieve a healthy cow. If we are expecting the newly calved cow to be attracted to the parlour between 4 and 6 times per day as a minimum, nothing must put her off.
Equally, the risk of fresh cows developing acidosis had to be managed so the nut was designed not to limit her forage intake outside of the parlour. Megalac has been introduced to further ensure the risk of acidosis is controlled.
The compound nut is being used on a number of our clients' farms with resounding success.
We are now seeing freshly calved cows safely consume 12kg per day by day 30, even on high M+ diets, with 60 litre cows receiving 15kg per day.
The healthy cow has been achieved with body condition being retained, whilst production, milk butterfat and protein percentage have all increased.
